Grass or Grain... Where's the beef?

Have you ever wondered why there is such hype around "grass-fed" beef these days? We'll describe "grass-fed" in this post and talk about some primary reasons why I think grass-fed beef is better for you and your family. I will also highlight a nearby farm that in our region provides high-quality grass-fed beef. Usually, grass-fed beef is more expensive, but hopefully you'll see in this article why the premium is worth it!

"Fed beef comes from steers who eat nothing but grass and hay all their lives. Look out for farms that call themselves "grass-fed" but do not feed their steers exclusively on grass. Throughout the lifetime of the steers, true "grass-fed" farms are committed to not using any organic grains.

Then why would you be interested in eating grass-fed beef instead of grain-fed beef? Well, if you're going to enjoy a good "fattened calf," celebration, you probably want to know how the calf got fat!
